More Information about Stringsaloud

Stringsaloud are a very busy quartet with over 100 wedding and corporate event bookings taken every year since 2005.

We have played at the opening of Hotel Du Vin, One Devonshire Gardens, Glasgow, the Glasgow Malmaison for the past two years at Hogmanay and at a very famous Scottish comedian and radio presenter's 50th birthday party.

Mairi Hunter-Barr, Sales and Events Manager of the quartet, has given interviews to SAGA fm, Evening Times and the Networker for Women into Business Glasgow.

The girls have recently been head-hunted by Talkback Thames for "Britain's Got Talent", however we are quite happy with keeping our talent in Scotland!

Such is the popularity of Stringsaloud's music we have a pool of regular players so that we may attend more than one event at a time.

2008: Appearances so far....

These are two recent weddings that we were performing at on April 26th 2008 and May 3rd 2008, we have played at 8 previous to these during January to April....it is now definitely
WEDDING SEASON.....so hold onto your hats! So we will be out practically every weekend now until September....

Last weekend we were performing at Airth Castle near Falkirk.
The ceremony was held inside the castle and then the guests moved onto the lawn area outside.

We stayed in the beautiful foyer which had an amazing acoustic...no need for amplification here, it was really loud!

We played Canon in D (go to http://www.stringsaloud.co.uk/ to hear this sampled and recorded by us) for the Processional, Fields of Gold for the Signing of the Register and Bittersweet Symphony by the Verve for the Recessional.

This weekend we played outside at Harburn House for the ceremony on the lawn.

We also got some "interesting" shots by the "gazebo"/hut/wendy house(?).

You will notice that we have a different cellist, Fiona McLachlan (RSAMD graduate and Cairn Quartet member). Roz was actually a guest for once at a wedding instead of playing at them all the time!
For this wedding we played Canon in D for the Processional, Ave Maria (Schubert) and Secret Wedding, Braveheart (go to www.stringsaloud.co.uk to hear this) and the Mendelssohn Wedding March for the Recessional.
This ceremony was conducted by a Humanist celebrant and was very touching, sincere and entertaining!
