Hello Mairi, We are just back from honeymoon (which was perfect) and I wanted to drop you a line to say thanks to you and your group for the wonderful music they played on the 17th of May. I could not have been happier. I have added a comment to your blog (see below) hope thats alright.Lynn 'I would like to say a huge thank you to Stringsaloud for the beautiful music they provided on my wedding day. Hearing the music I had chosen drifting across the room as we signed the register or walking out as man and wife with moonriver playing are very special memories for me. I know it is a while after the wedding but it has been a busy couple of months since the honeymoon. I just wanted to drop you a quick note to say thank you for all help and to say the quartet were fantasticon the day. Stringsaloud Needs YOU - Aberdeenshire Lassies!

Are you a professional string player working in the Aberdeenshire area?
Would you like to work for one of Scotland's most popular string quartet brands?
Stringsaloud are looking for versatile string players who can readily swap from Classical to pop and jazz music, great sight readers who will play the likes of Coldplay, U2 and the Beatles along with well known Classical quartet repertoire with a sense of fun and passion for all genres of music....
You will need to be extremely well presented, our dresscode is funky and glamourous...
Check out our photos for an idea....
We pay reasonable performance fees and travel expenses*.
You will never be asked to "busk" from piano parts or arrive at a gig without being given the music in advance....
All our music is professionally arranged by members of Stringsaloud.
*Stringsaloud do not play at any engagements without prior payment and there is two pay-runs a month...so no waiting for 3 months for your fees.

All the new girls have a wealth of string quartet experience...and also orchestral experience...many of our regular players have played with the Royal Scottish National Orchestra, Scottish Opera and BBC orchestra!

String Quartets Playing Outside
A sad story...
It has been brought to my attention that unfortunately some people think that musicians and their instruments are robotic and can function wherever they are required....afraid not...
All our musicians use antique instruments some costing tens of thousands of pounds, being made of wood, varnished and glued together some more than 250 years ago simply cannot be played outside in sunlight...yes even SCOTTISH sunlight... as the varnish and the quality of sound produced could be irretrievably damaged...
Also there is the lovely Scottish rain to be considered....would you leave your i-pod out in the rain....no...so there is no way we would play our cherished instruments out in a downpour or even a light shower either.
A musician's livelihood depends on their instrument....if you want quality music you need quality instruments...we cannot destroy our instruments playing outside so please take note of this when thinking about where your guests will be on the day....common sense methinks...
